The section consists of different components:

(a) For problems: Enter the answers in the blanks provided and use the forward button to proceed further with the respective question.

(b) For slideshow: Enter the correct option for the question displayed on top. Only on entering the forward button is enabled and we can proceed with further problem solving.

In earlier classes, we have gotten to know about variables , equations , polynomials etc. They together come under the umbrella term of "Algebraic expressions" which are like these magical codes in mathematics. They are made up of numbers, letters (variables) and other math symbols.

In this chapter, we will be understand how to perform operations like adding, subtracting, and multiplying to solve these mathemathical expressions in order to solve real-life problems.

This comes into play in civil engineering( to design structures, calculate loads, and analyze stresses), business and economics (to analyze market trends, determine pricing strategies, and forecast sales), medicine(in medical research, such as modeling the spread of diseases, analyzing clinical trial data, and developing predictive models for patient outcomes), computer science(manipulate data, and write algorithms) among many other uses.
