Introduction

Cell phones are indispensable in our daily lives, integrating into various aspects seamlessly. They are key for communication, education, and entertainment. Smartphones provide access to learning resources, social media, games, and organizational tools.

Smartphones utilize various geometric shapes for specific types of functions and design efficiency. Circular shapes are ideal for the camera lens and speaker for optimal light focusing and sound transmission. Triangular icons in the user interface indicate direction and action, like the play button. The rectangular shape of the screen and phone body maximizes the display area and provides ergonomic comfort. Each shape's unique properties enhance the smartphone's functionality and the user’s experience, demonstrating the clever use of geometry in technology. Rectangle/square are a type of a parallelogram.

Observe the different shapes around you. Make a note of the common 2-D shapes you find in your house. Dinner plates, clock, tables, some of the three pin plugs etc.

In our day to today usage the shapes Parallelogram, triangle and circle are very important. Calculating area is essential in daily life for tasks like home renovation (to estimate paint or flooring), gardening (for layout planning), real estate (to understand property sizes), sports field design, and educational or crafting projects. It helps in efficient planning and resource utilization.
