Introduction

Instructions

You have 6 blocks. Arrange them in rows in such a way that each row has the same number of blocks.

Move the blocks around and arrange them. Once you have arranged as you see fit, drag and select all the blocks and click on check to see if you have found a way. The first one has been done for you(all blocks in 1 row)

Arrange the values

Let's .

You have found ${numArrangements} arrangement(s). Just ${4-numArrangements} remaining.

As you can see, there are ways in which you can achieve this.

From these experiments we observe that 6 can be written as a product of two numbers in different ways as

6 = 1 × 6; 6 = × 3; 6 = 3 × 2; 6 = × 1

From 6 = 2 × 3 it can be said that 2 and 3 exactly divide 6. So, 2 and 3 are exact divisors of 6. From the other product 6 = 1 × 6, the exact divisors of 6 are found to be 1 and 6. Thus, 1, 2, 3 and 6 are exact divisors of 6. They are called the factors of 6.
