Introduction

Pick up an small object from your surroundings. A pencil, a notebook, a water bottle etc. Similarly, observe the shape of bigger objects like a dining table, the couch, a table lamp. All theses objects have a definite shape and are formed using curves or lines.

We can see the corners, edges, planes upon inspecting the objects individually. These can be organised into line segments, angles, triangles, polygons and circles and they all have different sizes and measures.

Let us now try to understand and develop methods to compare their shapes and sizes.

All objects around us have a particular shape.
