A Line

Imagine that the line segment from points A to point B (i.e. AB ) is extended beyond A in one direction and beyond B in the other direction without any end. That is called the line.

Now select two random points in the drawing panel. You can see the green path.It is a .

Do you think that a complete picture of a line can be draw on a single piece of paper? .

A line through two points A and B is denoted as AB.

Sometimes a line is denoted by a letter like l, m.

Since, it extends indefinitely in both directions, it contains a countless number of points.

To distinguish between line and line segment we mark arrow on both sides of the line.

In the case of both lines and line segment, we can conclude that two points are enough to fix a line. Therefore, we can say that ‘two points determine a distinct/particular line’.
