Looking Back

(1) Mean, mode and median are representative values for a set.

(2) Arithmetic mean (or) mean is equal to of all the observations of a data set by the number of observations. It lies the lowest and highest values of the data.

(3) An observation of data that occurs frequently is called the mode of the data. A data set may have one or more modes and sometimes none.

(4) Median is simply the observation, when all observations are arranged in order. (In case of even number of observations the median is the average of middle two observations.)

(5) A pie chart is a circular chart/graph divided into , and is used to present data.

(6) The central angle of each sector (and consequently its area) in a pie chart, is to the quantity that it represents.
